The Wyoming State Championship Tournament will be held September 28-29 in Sheridan, Wyoming. This year we will have three divisions.
The Championship Division will be a 5-game round robin open to the top five highest rated players from Wyoming who register by the end of the day on Sunday, Sept. 22. Ethan Hoopes from Sheridan will also complete in the Championship Division since he won the Open Division in last year's Championship Tournament. Note: players must commit to playing all five rounds. Withdrawing from the Championship Division will make the withdrawing player ineligible to compete in the 2025 Championship Division.
Qualifier Division and the Under 1000 Division will be run as 5-Round Swiss-style tournaments. The winner of the Qualifier Division earns a slot in the 2025 Championship Division.
You must be a US Chess member to play. You must also be a Wyoming resident or must have been a resident for more than 50% of the past year. Entry fee: $30.00 by September 22, 2024. $40.00 after September 22. Players <1000 must pay a $10 play-up fee to compete in the Qualifier Division. Prizes will be at least 80% of registration fees less expenses.

We have also negotiated a discounted hotel room rate of $112.00 + taxes for a room with kitchenette at the Candlewood Suites, 1709 Sugarland Dr., Sheridan, WY - 307-675-2100.
