HCC November Action Quads (G/25,d5)

DATE & TIME:  Mon, November 20, 2023;  6:30PM  (Round 1 at 6:30PM, subsequent rounds ASAP.  End time: Between 8:30-9:30PM depending on quad).
TIME CONTROL:  G/25, d5.  Each player receives 25 minutes, plus a 5 second delay each move, to complete each game
QUAD FORMAT: The HCC will conduct a US Chess rated quad tournament open to all adult players ages 13+.  (Players under 13 who have a USCF rating of 700+ are also eligible for this tournament.. Scholastic players should also see our monthly Scholastic Tournaments which are open to all students (K-12) of all rating levels),  Quads, which group players by their skill level, are a great way to ensure closer matchups for a more fun and competitive challenge.  This tournament provides an opportunity to play three regular rated games in one evening.
WHEN:  HCC Monthly Action Quads will usually occur on the 3rd Monday of the month (with the other Monday evenings open for casual play).  Please check the Events Calendar to confirm dates of upcoming HCC tournaments.
WHERE:  Play More Chess Academy, Home of the Hamden Chess Club, 1227 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06517
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION:  Free parking is available on behind the Academy, including free street parking on Putnam/Lake Drive that goes behind the Academy and adjacent Books and Co. CT Transit bus stop is adjacent to Academy at intersection of Putnam/Whitney Ave.
PRIZES:  $30 to the winner of each quad, $35 for perfect 3-0 score
ENTRY FEE:  Early entry - $20 (by 11:59PM day prior);  Early entry (HCC Member): $15;  Free Early entry for Titled players and HCC Members rated 2000+ (Entry fee of 15 deducted from prize);
Regular entry - $25 (by  6:00PM day of tournament);  Regular entry (HCC Member): $20

ADDITIONAL NOTES:  All players must be current members of US Chess (go to USCHESS.org to join or renew your USCF membership/membership ID number).  Must register for HCC tournaments in advance - first registered, first served  (space is limited). All chess sets and digital clocks (DGT3000) provided.  Must use our equipment.  No byes available for this tournament and quad tournament players are not permitted to withdraw mid-event - participants must plan to play all three rounds.  Tournament is limited to the first 36 players who register.  Entries are first registered, first served.
