SAN DIEGO REGIONAL

HIGH SCHOOL CHESS TEAM 
CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Date:  January 12, 2025 (Sunday)
Location: San Diego Chess Club (2225 6th Ave.)
Teams: 5 players per team, each team can bring 1 alternate player.  Grades 9 through 12th.
Team Awards: top 3 teams will be awarded
Start/End Time: Tournament will start at 10 am (check in before 9:40 am) and end around 5 - 5:30 pm.
Rounds:  5 matches
Format: G30d5 (games 30 minutes with 5 seconds delay)
Entry Fee:  Early Bird Registration: $150 per team until November 9th, $175 per team from November 10th,  $200 per team from December 10th.
The registration fee also covers a pizza lunch for all team members.
Refund Policy: Full refunds are available until January 5th, 2025 if paid by Zelle/Venmo.   If paid via credit card/invoice, the refund fee is $10.
Registration Deadline:   All registrations / payments must be received by January 5th, 2025. 
Maximum number of teams:  14.  If we have an odd number of teams before the registration deadline, we can accept one more team to ensure an even competition.

 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  • All team players should be entered in the section "Players". Make sure to specify high school / grade for each player.
  • Active USCF membership is REQUIRED to participate, please, enter the correct USCF number for each player.  New players, join USCF at:   https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess.   If your USCF is expired we can assist with the renewing ($17 renewal fee per youth membership). 
  • How to pay:
    • Venmo:  Please, select "VENMO" in the Entry Type at the checkout and send Venmo to @SanDiegoChess (Irina)
    • Zelle:  Please, select "ZELLE" in the Entry Type at the checkout and send Zelle to k12sdcc@gmail.com (Irina)
    • Credit Card:  Please, select "Credit Card" in the Entry Type at the checkout.  If you already paid for the team and want to add more players, please, use the Entry Type  "TEAM HAS ALREADY PAID. ADDING PLAYERS"
    • Invoice:  you can send email to k12sdcc@gmail.com to request the invoice.
