Players from the United States compete against Team South Africa in the first ever USA vs. South Africa Team Battle!
• The tournament will begin on Sunday July 26th at 2 pm Eastern Daylight Time (1 pm CDT, 12 pm/noon MDT, or 11 am PDT) and end at 4 pm Eastern Daylight Time. Players are encouraged to join the tournament a few minutes early.
• This tournament is free!
• Lichess team battle pairings will be used. This format is similar to arena-style pairings, but players from the same country will be restricted from playing against each other.
• The scores of the highest performing 20 players from each side will determine which country wins!

• The time control is game in 3 minutes with a 2-second incremement. Players will be allowed to use Berserk mode, where they sacrifice half of their initial time and all of their increment to get double points.
• There will be a live commentary stream with analysts from both sides on the DMV Chess Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/dmv_chess
• After you register we will send instructions manually.
