THIS TOURNAMENT IS OVER, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this tournament will be held online.

• NEW: This tournament will be USCF-online quick rated! An active USCF membership is required. You can join the USCF or renew an expired USCF membership at this link: https://secure2.uschess.org/webstore/member.php

• Before signing up for the tournament, please register for a lichess.org account (it's free!) if you do not have an existing account. Please provide your lichess username in the "Online Username" field when you complete the registration form. If you have any issues try watching this video about how to register an account on lichess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTr_tAh7JeQ

• The tournament will begin at 2 pm Eastern Daylight Time (1 pm CT, 12/noon MDT, or 11 am PDT). Players are encouraged to join the tournament a few minutes early.

• There will be four sections: K-3, K-5, K-8, and K-12.

Trophies will be mailed to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each section.

• 5 DMV Grand Prix points will be awarded for participation. 1 Grand Prix point will be awarded for each victory.

• Arena style pairings will be used. This means participants should be able to get a game very quickly after their previous game finishes. There is no exact pre-determined number of rounds (players get to play as many games as possible). The tournament will last for three hours. Players can take breaks or withdraw from the event at any time. The time control will be game in 25 minutes with a 3-second increment.

• Online computer analysis of all games will be possible immediately after the tournament!

• Entry fee: $15 by Friday 5/15/2020, $20 until Saturday 5/16/2020

• After you register, you will receive an email from Caissa Chess with instructions on how to join the tournament online. If you don't receive the email, please check your spam folder.
