Saturday, November 16, 2024 PALS OPEN Tournament (rescheduled from cancelled 11/9 tournament)

Open to all participants and rated by the US Chess Federation and participant MUST have a current USCF membership.

Check in between 7:30-8:30

MANDATORY PLAYER'S MEETING at 8:30 a.m. in the gym

Round times: Round 1: 9:00; Round 2: 10:00; Round 3: 11:00; Round 4: 12:30; Round 5: 1:30pm

Lunch: Players will have a lunch break starting immediately after their third round game ends until 12:25, five minutes before the start of round 4.

You may go somewhere else for lunch, but you must be back by 12:25.

Entry Fee: $40 + online processing fee

Please note that all players of all ages (including parents and grandparents!) may play in the Open section (but they must have a USCF membership)

Open Section Prizes: 90% of entry fees paid out in prize money. Highest prize fund in the state!
Payment information MUST be given to the Tournament Director before you leave the tournament to ensure proper payment will be issued. Prize money will be paid within the week after the tournament via Zelle (*preferred method), Venmo or mailed check.

Terms and Conditions

I grant PALS Chess Academy LLC, its directors, officers, employees, and faculty non-revocable permission to capture my image and likeness in photographs, videotapes, digital media, motion pictures, audio recordings, or any other audio, visual, online, or interactive media. I acknowledge that PALS Chess Academy LLC will own such Images and further grant PALS Chess Academy LLC permission to copyright, display, publish, distribute, use, modify, print and reprint such Images in any manner related to PALS Chess Academy LLC business, including without limitation, publications, advertisements, brochures, web site, videos, digital media, or other electronic displays and transmissions. I further waive any right to inspect or approve the use of the Image by PALS Chess Academy LLC prior to its use. I forever release and hold PALS Chess Academy LLC harmless from any and all liability arising out of the use of the Images in any manner or media whatsoever, and waive any and all claims and causes of action relating to use of the Images, including without limitation, claims for invasion of privacy rights or publicity.

By signing up for PALS Chess Academy LLC chess clubs, tournaments, or camps, the participant, (or parent/guardian if a minor), in this activity acknowledges the risks associated with the activity and agrees to hold PALS Chess Academy LLC, The McConnell family and any other employees or volunteers regarding chess clubs, tournaments, and camps harmless in the event of any damages or injury that may arise.

By participating in, or authorizing participation in, PALS Chess Academy LLC chess clubs, tournaments, or camps in any way whatsoever, you hereby release and hold harmless forever PALS Chess Academy LLC, its instructors, employees, agents, and consultants from any and all liability, for any claim, demand, injury, expense, damage, action or cause of action arising out of or connected with the services or facilities of these entities, including those arising from acts of active or passive negligence.
