Terms and Conditions
  • From Lichess / USCF Fair Play policy on cheating.  “We define this as using any external assistance to strengthen your knowledge and, or, calculation ability to gain an unfair advantage over your opponent. Some examples would include computer engine assistance, opening books, endgame tablebases, and asking another player for help..”  This is a USCF online-rated tournament. You should not have any browsers, tabs, or windows open.  We strongly encourage parents to “check in” on their players at least once per game to ensure fair play.
  • We reserve the right to remove from the tournament any player whose play is indicative of FAIR-PLAY VIOLATIONS.  When a player is removed, scores will be adjusted as follows: If two or more rounds remain, all opponents of the disqualified player will receive a win by forfeit, unless they defeated the disqualified player, in which case they will retain a rated win.  If the tournament has concluded, or if there is only one round remaining:     The last opponent of the disqualified player will receive a win by forfeit.     Other opponents who lost to the disqualified player will receive a half-point bye.     Other opponents who drew with the disqualified player will receive a win by forfeit.     Anyone who defeated the disqualified player will retain a rated win, instead of a forfeit win.
  • We will screen through analysis tool every single game. If the game is flagged as cheating, we will report the user to Lichess.  The user’s account can be potentially be closed or user could be issued a warning.
  • No refund will be issued to participants who violated USCF Fair Play rules and were removed from the tournament. In addition, players who are confirmed to be using outside assistance will be reported to US chess and restricted from future SDCC events, including over-the board tournaments.
  • I agree to email the organizer if I need to cancel my participation (k12sdcc@gmail.com)
  • I agree to let organizer know if I am running late for this event (email to k12sdcc@gmail.com)
  • I agree to let organizer know if I changed my Lichess ID.
