ICEA 2024 Super October OTB Chess Tournament [Oct. 12th]

Tournament Date: Saturday, Oct. 12th, 2024

Location: 11555 National Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064

Sections / Format / Time Control:

• 2000+ Section: 4 Round SS,  G/90;+20 (Super Month Time Control, 4 rounds will span across Two Saturdays)

• 1600+ & 1000+ Section: 4 Round SS,  G/45;+5 
• U1000 Section: 3 Double Rounds SS, G/30;+5 (each player plays x2 games Black/White Vs. same opponent)

Round Time:

• 2000+ (span across Two Saturdays):
  • Round 1: 9:30am PT @Saturday I (10/12/2024)
  • Round 2: 2pm PT @Saturday I (10/12/2024)
  • Round 3: 9:30am PT @Saturday II (11/9/2024)
  • Round 4: 2pm PT @Saturday II (11/9/2024)
• 1600+/1000+: 9am / 11am / 2pm / 4pm
• U1000: 9am / 11am / 2pm

Play-up Policy:

1. play-up option is available to players within 100 USCF rating points of the section they want to play in.
2. If you’re an unrated player who hasn’t played any rated games yet, you’ll need to start with the U1000 section. Keep in mind that your rating will be provisional within your first 25 rated games, and we’ll use your provisioned rating for section eligibility.

Entry Fee:

$25 (Early Bird by Sept. 30th) / $35 (After Sept. 30th)

Note:

1. Email to chess@icea1.org to request advance byes if you need to miss any rounds. One half-point bye available for 2000+ & 1600+ & 1000+ sections (0-point bye for the last round).
2. Players should bring their own sets & clocks & pencils & scoresheets.
3. We will use October 2024 supplement (or most recent) ratings for the pairing.
4. TD reserves the right to adjust ratings and the sections in unusual circumstances.

PRIZES (70% of collection goes to Prize Fund): 

for each section (Except 2000+ Section):

6-10 Players: Top 3 players

11-20 Players: Top 4 Players

20-30 Players: Top 5 Players

30-40 Players: Top 6 Players

(if 1600+ section is less than 6 players, we merge 1600+ section into 1000+ section as OPEN section and use McMahon or Accelarated pairing)

For 2000+ Section :

• 1st Place: $80
• 2nd Place: $60
• 3rd Place: $50
