REGISTRATION
- ONLINE: Scroll down and complete all required fields. A processing fee applies (payments are collected securely through Stripe).
SCHEDULE
- ARRIVAL: First round starts at 12:00 pm, please arrive by 11:45 am
- END TIME: Tournament is expected to be done by 4:30 pm, lower rated sections most likely will finish much earlier
- AWARDS CEREMONY: Right after all the games are done.
SECTIONS
- OPEN: Recommended for ratings over 700, advanced scholastic players, any grade. Max rating for this event is 1400 USCF.
- U700: Recommended for experienced scholastic players, any grade. Max rating for this section is 699 USCF
- U400: Recommended for beginner scholastic players. Max rating for this section is 399 USCF.
- We reserve the right to change sections and move some participants if sections are uneven
FORMAT
- 4 rounds
- Open section plays with G30d10, U700/U400 sections play with G30d5
- USCF rated as Regular/Quick
ENTRY FEE
BYES
- 1 bye is allowed (you can skip one round and get a half point)
- If you are skipping the first round, please put in the registration notes or email us
- For all other byes, please, request before we start making pairings for that round
- If you need 4th round bye, please, request before 3rd round
- If the participant is YOUNGER than 13 years old, parent/guardian/designated adult should be present on San Diego Chess Club’s premises during the tournament (No drop-offs).
- I agree to hold harmless the San Diego Chess Club, Scholastic Coordinator (Irina Nizmutdinova) and all tournament staff from any events that cause harm/damage to your child and/or personal belongings. The tournament and tournament staff are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- There is a “Zero Tolerance Policy” for any inappropriate behavior such as criticizing, bullying, not listening to tournament instructions, or any attempt of harm of anyone else. Consequence: Immediate removal from the tournament.
- I agree to let the organizers know if I need to cancel my participation & running late.
- I understand that no refunds will be given after 10 AM on the date of the tournament.
