This is a two-day tournament on March 16 & 17.
Eight rounds. Round times are as follows: Saturday at 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm, and Sunday at 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm
Participants who cannot attend on both days should leave a note in the field labeled "Comments/Bye Requests" when registering. We allow players to request up to four half-point byes. If someone misses an entire day, they will receive four half-point byes (2 points for the standings) for the day they are absent. Half-point byes do not impact USCF ratings.
Four sections: K-12, K-8, K-5, and K-3

Note: The Murray Newcomb Memorial Tournament (3 days long with a 2-day option) is for both adults and children, whereas The Murray Newcomb Memorial Scholastic Championship (2-day event) is only open to scholastic players
Trophies will be awarded to the top five finishers in each section
Time control: Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay
Entry fee: $65 by 3/15, $70 on the day of the tournament (on-site registration closes 30 minutes before round 1)
Masks are optional
Boards and pieces will be provided for all players
This tournament is US Chess rated
PARKING INFORMATION: There is plenty of parking at the Executive Conference Center. The Conference Center owns all of the hotel properties nearby, so we also have permission to use any of the nearby hotel parking lots.

Sleeping Rooms - 15% Discount for Chess Players - Three Hotel Options
There are three hotels in the same complex as the Dulles Conference Center with a discounted room rate for the chess tournament. The Best Western and Hampton Inn are right in front of the Conference Center (only about a 10-second walk) and they both offer free breakfast. The Holiday Inn is about a three-minute walk, but offers additional amenities that some players might prefer, such as a restaurant open for dinner. The Holiday Inn does not have free breakfast. The Best Western has the cheapest rate of roughly $85 per night. The Best Western and Hampton Inn links require you to enter a rate code (see below), but the Holiday Inn link automatically takes you to the discounted rate.
