Tournament Information:

  • Location: Hilton Garden Inn Tysons Corner located at 8301 Boone Blvd, Vienna, VA 22182
  • 4 round Swiss tournament.
  • USCF regular and quick rated. Time control: Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay.
  • Sunday, January 28th, 10:00 am to approximately 2:30 pm.
  • Entry fee: $35 on or before Wednesday the week of the tournament, $40 on or before Saturday, $45 on Sunday (on-site registration is allowed, registration for round one closes at 9:45 am on Sunday).
  • Participants are not required to play all rounds. Please inform the tournament director if you plan to show up late or leave early.
  • Four Sections: K-3, K-5, K-8, and K-12.
  • PRIZES: Trophies to the top three in each section!
  • We will have enough chess sets for all players. If you would like to use a clock, please bring one.
  • Masks are optional.

Parking Information

There is a decent amount of free parking on the street right in front of the hotel. The hotel also has a garage where anyone participating in the tournament can park for free. Just press the call button and the front desk will let you into the garage. There's an elevator that can take you to the hotel lobby.

 

Afternoon Action Tournaments

Normally on the days where we have our scholastic tournaments, we also have an "action" tournament at 4 pm at the same venue. Our action tournaments are open to both adults and kids. Scholastic players are welcome to participate in both the action and the scholastic. Check our website dmvchess.com to see if the action is happening!

DMV Chess runs four USCF-rated online tournaments every week! We also have online camps over holiday weekends, spring break, and the summer.
