Tournament Information

BRUCE BAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLASTIC TOURNAMENT
(For grades K through K12, all levels are welcome)
DECEMBER 10th, 2023 (SUNDAY). 12 - 3:30 pm

 

Location: San Diego Chess Club (2225 6th Avenue, San Diego)
Schedule: 

  • First round starts at 12:00 pm, please arrive 15 minutes earlier by 11:45
  • Tournament is expected to be done by 3:30 pm
  • Awards ceremony after all games are done.

Sections:  All participants will be divided in 3 equal groups/sections by rating. Sections are subject to changes based on participants/ratings. Swiss pairings.
Format:  3  rounds, USCF rated as Regular / Quick (G30d5)
Byes:  Only zero points byes are allowed for this event
Fees:

  • $25 plus processing fees.  Families with more than 2 kids, the 3rd/4th kid gets in for free (please, chose the appropriate Entry Type at the checkout)
  • If you have a credit with us from previous events, please choose an approrpiate Entry Type at the check out (in the notes specify which credit you are applying)
  • If your USCF membership is expired, we can re-new it. Please, add $20 and chose an appropriate payment option at the checkout
  • No refunds to no-shows

Prizes:  Trophies to top players in the section
Equipment: If you own a tournament chess set and a clock, please, bring it. 

Terms and Conditions
  • If the participant is YOUNGER than 12 years old, parent/guardian/designated adult should be present on San Diego Chess Club’s premises during the tournament (No drop-offs).
  • I agree to hold harmless the San Diego Chess Club, Scholastic Coordinator  (Irina Nizmutdinova) and all tournament staff from  any events that cause harm/damage to your child and/or personal belongings. The tournament and tournament staff are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • There is a “Zero Tolerance Policy” for any inappropriate behavior such as criticizing, bullying, not listening to tournament instructions, or any attempt of harm of anyone else. Consequence: Immediate removal from the tournament
  • I agree to let the club know if I need to cancel my participation
  • I agree to let the club know if am runnig late
