Free to anyone playing in the main event

This tournament is free for anyone playing in The 1st Annual Pennsylvania Classic. Players can play one, two, three, or four bonus games depending on when their Saturday-night round finishes.

Players not playing in the main event are also welcome to participate but must pay an entry fee ($30 by 7/22, $35 by 7/26, and $40 up until 7/29).

  • Saturday, July 29th at 8 pm

  • Four rounds: first round at 8 pm, subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible

  • One section

    • This tournament will feature Monrad pairings, which is a variation on Swiss pairings that reduces mismatches. Only one section is necessary with Monrad pairings, as players are often paired against closely rated opponents. • Up to three half-point byes allowed

  • Entry fee:

  • Masks are optional

  • Boards and pieces will be provided for all players, but we don’t have enough clocks for everyone (those who have clocks are welcome to bring them)
