DCC March Tues 2023

Tues: 3/7, 3/14, 3/21 and 3/28

A Swiss System 4 round tournament

All players are welcome to play regardless of covid vaccination status. However, per current policy, players and spectators will be required to sign a DCC liability waiver. Masks are recommended but optional.  As circumstances evolve, the Covid-Policy is subject to change. Consult denverchess.com  for any last minute changes. 

Date: Tuesdays in March 2023 (3/7, 3/14, 3/21 and 3/28)

Time Control: Game in 70 minutes + 10 second delay (G70;d10)

Sections: Premier (1700+ or Unrated) - U1900 - U1500

Premier Section: Those rated 1700+ and those unrated.  Past 2022/23 Winners of the U1900 Section may also play in the Premier Section.  Rated players less than 1700 will only be allowed to play in the other sections.

Round Time: 7:05pm (We are targeting a 7:05 start time)

Site: Hope Fellowship Christian Reformed Church. 2400 S. Ash Denver CO 80222. Please use the rear entrance.

Directions: One block East of S. Colorado Blvd. on Wesley. Please use rear entrance.

Entry Fees: DCC members: $25 per month or $7 per round.  Non-DCC members: $35 per month or $9 per round.  Children under 14 receive a $2.00 discount.  For immediate families, the 3rd family member plays for free (note: online registration does support this, and all 3 must register and pay.  A refund will be give, upon check in, to the 3rd family member)

Prizes: Based on entries (DCC deducts a set amount to cover expenses and the DCC tour prize fund; the remainder goes to the prize fund).  1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes, and 2 Upset prizes in each section. 

Registration: Online, or at the door from 6:00 to 6:50 PM.  When registering online, players must still check in at the registration table before the close of registration.  Potential players appearing after 6:50PM will only be accommodated if it does not disrupt the pairing schedule.  Online registration helps speed up checking and help for an ontime start.

USCF membership is required.

Bye Policy: Up to 1 half-point bye is available.  Byes for prior rounds must be requested before the player is paired in another round.  Once paired, byes for prior rounds cannot be requested.  A last round half-point bye must be requested before the start of the penultimate round.
