ICEA 2022 September OTB Chess Tournaments [Sept. 18 & Sept 25]

Tournament Date:

Sunday, Sept 18th, 2022 & Sunday, Sept 25th, 2022

Sections & Format:

• 1800+ Section: 4 Round SS, 2 Rounds on Sept 18th + 2 Rounds on Sept 25th, FIDE rated + USCF rated
• 1000+ Section: 4 Round SS on One Day (Sept 18th & Sept 25th), USCF Rated only
• U1000 Section: 3 Double Rounds SS on One Day (Sept 18th & Sept 25th), USCF Rated only 

Note:

1. for 1000+ & U1000 sections, Sept 18th and Sept 25th are two separate tournaments, you can choose any one or choose both, the USCF reporting will be submitted separately.
2. If you want to play up to 1800+ section, your rating cannot below 1600 (based on September supplement rating) 
3. For unrated player, if you think your are a strong player and want to play up 1000+ section, please notify chess@icea1.org before/after the registration to avoid assigning to U1000 section by default.

Entry Fee:

• Register Online:
  • $25 for one entry (1000+ / U1000) 
  • $40 for 1800+ (FIDE rated as well)
• Register Onsite (fill this form ahead):
  • $30 for one entry (1000+ / U1000)
  • $50 for 1800+ (FIDE rated as well)

Note:

1. If you want to pay onsite, please fill the form ahead to secure the spot, otherwise we might close the registration earlier when all spots are filled.

Time Control & Schedule:

• 1800+:  G/90;+30 (Sept. 18th: 9am / 2pm + Sept 25th: 9am / 2pm)
• 1000+: G/45:+5 (9 am, 11 am, 2pm, 4pm PT) (Sept 18th & Sept 25th)
• U1000 section:  3 double rounds of G/30;+5 (9 am, 11 am, 2 pm PT)  (Sept 18th & Sept 25th)

Note:

1. Email to chess@icea1.org to request advance byes if you need to miss any rounds. One half-point bye available for 1800+ & 1000+ sections.
2. Players should bring their own sets & clocks & pencils & scoresheets.
3. We will use September 2022 (or most recent) supplement ratings for the pairing.
4. TD reserves the right to adjust ratings and the sections in unusual circumstances.

PRIZES (70% of collection goes to Prize Fund): 

6-10 Players: Top 3 players

11-20 Players: Top 4 Players

(if less than 6 players, we might combine the sections)
