FEBRUARY SCHOLASTIC CHESS TOURNAMENT

REGISTRATION

• ONLINE:  Scroll down and complete all required fields.

SCHEDULE

• ARRIVAL: First round starts at 12:00 pm, please arrive by 11:45 am
• END TIME: Tournament is expected to be done by 3:30 pm, lower rated sections most likely will finish much earlier (by 2;30 pm).
• AWARDS CEREMONY:  Right after all the games in that section are done.

SECTIONS

• OPEN:  Recommended for ratings over 700, advanced scholastic players, any grade. Max rating for this event is 1400 USCF.
• U700:  Recommended for experienced scholastic players, any grade. Max rating for this section is 699 USCF
• U400:  Recommended for beginners scholastic players. Max rating for this section is 399 USCF.
• We reserve the right to change sections and move some participants if sections are uneven

FORMAT

• 3 rounds
• G30d5
• USCF rated as Regular/Quick

BYES

• NO 1/2 PT BYES are allowed. Only 0 pt byes are allowed.

AWARDS

• TOP 6 of each section get trophies (3 larger trophies + 3 small trophies)

ENTRY FEE

• Until FEBRUARY 16th:  Regular Registration: $30
• February 16 - 23rd:  Late Registration: $40
• Refunds:  until 10 am the day of the tournament.  $5 refund processing fee will be charged if paid via Credit Card, full refund if paid via Zelle/Venmo. No refunds after 10 am day of the tournament.

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Credit Card:

1. Scroll down and fill out player information and click the box to accept the terms.

2. Enter payment information, click REGISTER button.

3. You will receive a Stripe receipt as well as Registration confirmation email.

4. Verify that the player's name  and section appear on the registration list correctly.

VENMO

1. Scroll down and fill out player information and click the box to accept the terms.

2. In [PAYMENT INFORMATION]  choose VENMO from [ENTRY TYPE] menu, click REGISTER button.

3. Send Venmo payment to @SanDiegoChess

4. Make sure to mention the name of the player in your VENMO notes.

5. You will receive Registration confirmation email

6. Verify that the player's name and section appear on the registration list correctly.

ZELLE:

1. Scroll down and fill out player information and click the box to accept the terms.

2. In [PAYMENT INFORMATION]  choose ZELLE from [ENTRY TYPE] menu, click REGISTER button.

3. Send Zelle payment to k12sdcc@gmail.com

4. Make sure to mention the name of the player in your ZELLE notes.

5. You will receive Registration confirmation email

6. Verify that the player's name and section appear on the registration list correctly.
