Format & Schedule:​

  • 5 Rounds

  • Swiss Format

  • USCF rated

  • All games will stay on the same schedule

Entry Fee

  • Players must be members of CAAS; coaches need to contact caaschesspaperwork@gmail.com for more information and to get the Google Classroom Code for the registration link.

  • $60.00 for event plus $10.00 per student who needs a USCF ID, payments will be due at the door if not paided in advance.

  • NO new players may register on September 21, 2024, the day of the tournament. 

  • Registration/Check-in starting @7:30 AM and closes promptly @8:30 AM

  • Scholastic, Grades 6-12th grade.

  • Limited to 120 Players

Bye: 

  • Players will recieve a first round 1/2 point bye if they arrive after 8:30 AM.

Schedule:

1 - Day Event

Registration / Check-In 7:30 to 8:30 AM

  • Round 1 9:00 AM

  • Round 2 10:45 AM

  • Lunch 12:00 - 1:00 PM

  • Round 3 1:15 PM

  • Round 4 3:00 PM

  • Round 5 4:45 PM

Sections & Prizes:

Open

  • 1st place  - Medal

  • 2nd place - Medal

  • 3rd place - Medal

 

Tiebreaks:

  • Standard USCF Tiebreakers will be used in all sections to determine the winner. If there is a tie for 1st place. There will be a G/5 Blitz playoff game to determine winners. See rule 34F in the USCF’s Official Rules of Chess for tiebreak details.

 

Additional Information:

  • Boards, Pieces, and Clocks provided.

  • USCF membership required

  • Players must be familiar with the USCF’s Official Rules of Chess

  • TD will accelerate pairings to pair players close in rating when possible

  • Most recent "LIVE" US Chess regular rating will be used for all sections to ensure close matchup.

  • TD has discretion to arrange ratings for pairings, prize purposes and can arrange section.

  • Players may not possess cell phones or any other electronic device during play.

  • No spectators or coaches will be allowed in the tournament room while games are in progress. 

  • No talking with anyone if your game is still in progress​
