Gmchessprep Golden Fall Action

• Four rounds: first round at 10 am, subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible.
• Four sections: K-12, K-8, K-5, and K-3
• Time control: Game in 30 minutes with a 5-second delay (US Chess regular and quick rated)
• Entry fee: $50 by 10/03/, $55 by 10/10, $60 by 10/15, $65 on 10/19 (on-site registration closes 30 minutes before round 1)
• Boards and pieces will be provided for all players, but we don’t have enough clocks for everyone (those who have clocks are welcome to bring them)
• This tournament is US Chess rated, so an active US Chess membership is required. If you don't have one, or you're not sure what your ID# is, you can look it up here
• No electronics scoring devices are allowed.
• Parents should look after their kids before and after the games.
• Don’t hesitate to reach out to us at tournaments@gmchessprep.com with any questions.
• No refunds will be issued once registered. Ask for credit to use for next events in case if can not make it.

*Admission into some weekday course cannot be guaranteed due to limited seat availability.

Note: For cups and trophies, ties will be broken using standard US Chess tiebreaks. In the event of a tie, the free course prize will be determined by tiebreaks. If multiple players get a perfect score, each of them will receive a free course entry.

 

VENUE INFORMATION/LOGISTICS

• PARKING:  There are spots in front of the School.
• The tournament will take place in the gym.
• Free water will be provided for attendees.
• There is no scheduled lunch break, but there is almost always time for players to have food between games. There aren't any scheduled round times--rounds will occur as soon as possible.
• Participants welcome to bring their own snacks however it should not contain anything that can cause allergy such as any kind of nuts.
