This is the third in a series of affordable local scholastic chess tournaments by Emerald Hills Chess and the Tri-Valley Chess League.

The morning Challenger is restricted to new US Chess Federation tournament players and novices under 300 rating.

The afternoon Premier (U600 and unrated) and Championship (600-1200 rating) lets experienced tournament players (including morning first-timers) improve their skills, boost their rating, and win trophies.

Trophies for the top finishers. 

Date: Sun Dec. 17, 2023 

Location: Stratford School (Middle School location), 3800 Stoneridge Drive, Pleasanton (see map)

Who: Experienced USCF tournament players up to 1200 over-the-board rating (check here)

Time: 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM (check-in 12:45-1:15 PM)

Format: 4 rounds using time control of Game in 25 minutes with 5 second delay. 

Entry Fee: $25 by Mon Dec. 11th; $30 afterward ($20 US Chess Federation junior membership also required - check here)
