This is a 5 round event in 3 sections (over 1600; under 1600;  under 800) with games on Tuesday evenings.  The sections could change if we don't have enough players in a section. Players can play up a section if within 100 rating points of the cutoff. Don't forget!  You must keep your membership in USCF active to play.   Each Round starts at 6:45 pm and the Club opens at 6:00.  Time control is Game/90 min. with 5 second delay except for the under 800 section, which will be G30 with 5 second delay. Players in the u800 section will play two games against the same opponent each round.  Two 1/2 point byes are available. Last round byes must be requested before the start of Round 4. The entry fee is $40 and should be paid online.  Advance registration is strongly advised as there is a 68 player limit. If you have trouble registering online contact us and we can register you and have you pay the registration fee in person before Round 1 starts. Players that don't register before the day of the tournament might not get a game in Round 1. Cell phones are allowed but must be placed on vibrate. All players must be SGVCC members.   New memebers can pay Club dues ($30 per year) in person.  All prior memberships from our Sierra Madre location are still in good standing and will be honored.
