Notes: Please read carefully. 

Check in required to be paired for round 1: Championship Section: Friday 05:15 PM - 5:45 PM:  Non-Championship Sections: Saturday: 09:15 AM - 09:45 AM 

All players are welcome to play regardless of covid vaccination status. However, per current policy, players and spectators will be required to sign a DCC liability waiver. This is a large tournament so please arrive 45 minutes early. Masks are recommended but optional.  As circumstances evolve, the Covid-Policy is subject to change. Consult denverchess.com  for any last minute changes. 

Please be advised that accelerated pairings may be deemed appropriate for sections with approximately 50 or more players.

The Denver Chess Club reserves the right to change tournament specifications as deemed appropriate.

Regular Time-Control: 5 round Swiss system tournament (Friday through Sunday Championship-section;Saturday-Sunday All other sections).

Friday Rated OTB-Blitz Option: 9 round 5 Minute/3 Second increment (register separately at denverchess.com, entry fee $15 or $13 for juniors and DCC Members ).

The hotel has a very limited number of King-bed rooms available.

Registration: Online Only at denverchess.com - Limited to 200 players.  No at the door registrations will be allowed.  Online Registration closes when 200 players are reached or otherwise at 5:30pm on 5/20 for the Championship section and at 9am for the Open on 5/21.
Registration Limited to the first 200 players (due to venue capacity). Check-in 45-15 minutes before round 1.  Bring your board, chess pieces and clock if you own them!

Sections:
Championship (Minimum Rating USCF 1800) – FIDE RATED

Three USCF-RATED sections in the Open: U2200,  U1800,  U1400

Entry fees:
Championship: IM/GM/WIM/WGM Free; 2200 and above $90, 2000-2199: $115, 1800-1999: $130

All other Sections (U2200, U1800, U1400): $70

DCC members  and juniors (age under 14) receive a discount of $10.

Time Control: Champion Section: 40/90; G/30 with a 30 second increment from move 1. All other sections: Saturday: Rounds 1-3: G/90; +10 second delay. Sunday: Rounds 4-5, G/90; +30 second increment.
Bye Policy: Only one half point bye will apply to a players score with regards to winning prize money. Bye’s for Round 5 will be scored as zero, but will not be considered a withdrawal.

Prizes :

Championship [1st, 2nd,3rd]: $1,000, $750, $500; U2400: $250;

Other sections [1st, 2nd,3rd]: U2200: $600, $450, $300  ===     U1800: $450, $350, $200   ===   U1400: $250, $150, $100

Round Times :

Friday: Blitz check-in 1:30pm, play starts at 2pm [separate online registration at denverchess.com]

Championship: Round 1-5: Friday 6 pm, Saturday 10 am 4:30 pm, Sunday 10 am 4:30 pm
Other Sections: Round 1-5: Saturday 10 am, 2:30 pm, 6:30 pm Sunday 10 am 4:30 pm
