January and February will be combined into 1 6 round tournament (2 rounds from Jan and 4 from Feb)

A Swiss System 6 round tournament

Notes: Please read carefully. 

At the registration table, all players must submit proof of having received a complete COVID vaccination at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the tournament (12/21/21) This requirement includes spectators and casual chess players. Players and spectators are also required to sign a DCC liability waiver at the registration table.

Face Masks are required to be worn indoors at ALL times

Date: Tuesdays in January (except 1/11 & 1/18) and Febrary 2022 (1/4 - 1/25 - 2/1 - 2/8 - 2/15 - 2/22)

Time Control: Game in 70 minutes + 5 second delay (G70;d5)

Sections: Premier (1700+ or Unrated) - U1900 - U1500

Premier Section: Those rated 1700+ and those unrated.  Past 2021 Winners of the U1900 Section may also play in the Premier Section.  Rated players less than 1700 will only be allowed to play in the other sections.

Round Time: 7:00pm.

Site: Hope Fellowship Christian Reformed Church. 2400 S. Ash Denver CO 80222. Please use the rear entrance.

Directions: One block East of S. Colorado Blvd. on Wesley. Please use rear entrance.

Entry Fees: DCC members: $25 per month or $7 per round.  Non-DCC members: $35 per month or $9 per round.  Childred under 14 receive a $2.00 discount.  For immediate families, the 3rd family member plays for free (note: online registration does support this, and all 3 must register and pay.  A refund will be give, upon check in, to the 3rd family member)

Prizes: Based on entries. (the DCC deducts a set amount to cover expenses, and the remainder is the prize fund) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and an Upset prize are awarded in each section. 

Registration: Online, or at the door from 6:00 to 6:50 PM.  When registering online, players must still check in at the registration table before the close of registration.  Potential players appearing after 6:50PM will only be accommodated if it does not disrupt the pairing schedule.  Online registration helps speed up checking and help for an ontime start.

USCF membership is required.

Bye Policy: Half-point byes available anytime for the first 3 rounds. A last round Bye must be requested before the start of the penultimate round. Only one Bye will count towards prize money.  You can request a bye for as many weeks as you want, but only one of those Byes will count towards the potential prize money.
